Classicism in the architecture of Serbia
Klasicizam u srpskoj arhitekturi
Апстракт
This paper presents author's views in regard to the origin and development of classicist ideas in Serbian architecture during the first half of 19th century. Several orthodox churches and only two or three examples of secular buildings correspond with these ideals. The main monuments of classicist architecture built during this period are: Saborna crkva (orthodox cathedral) in Belgrade and churches in Bashaid and Petrovčić in northern Serbian province Vojvodina, as well as a small residence house in Belgrade later named "Reálka".
U radu se prati pojava i razvoj klasicističke arhitektonske forme u srpskim krajevima severno i južno od Save i Dunava krajem 18. i tokom prve polovine 19. veka.
